Nowt

All is quiet on that score. Although the fixtures are 'provisionally' out for clubs to comment on. So perhaps sometime soon we'll get to know where we are when.

Just waiting on the news Mike Hussey will be joining us as overseas man for 2013

His summer 2013 is full.

Ashes July-Sept & whenever the Champions Trophy is.

M.Hussey is one of very few international players who still play ALL formats of the game.

I wish they'd announce where they're going for pre-season.

No doubt it will be either Abu Dhabi or SA but at least they could publish the itinerary asap (assuming its already sorted).

Blackwell, Rushworth and Stokes all had kids born within a couple of weeks

You mean Breese not Blackwell. You can also add to the list Muchall who's baby was born midway through the season and Graham Onions who is awaiting the birth of his child.

According to a report in the Journal we're unlikely to have an overseas player next year. Cook says we can't get a player of the standard Colly requires so we won't be botherng.

Fair enough, we've had enough average overseas players lately without pushing the boat out for another.

BBC story says Harmison's going to be given the chance to get some bowling in early and be in good nick for the start of the season. Hope that's the case or he's on his way, don't want him hanging about not contributing anything.

Anyone reckon we might have a dart at Ponting if he gets dropped? He'd be a cracking signing and example to the younger batsmen. He might be keen for a summer in England in case there's any injuries in the Aussie squad during the ashes.

Not the most exciting news but brewin dolphins re up for another 3 years

Harmison is finished. He's started making a few noises about how he is raring to go, has the bit between his teeth etc. but it doesnt alter the fact that he is finished. Just 9 months of him and then he's gone. Shame the way his career has petered out.

Ponting was lined up to come to Durham the year before last but his commitments with Australia meant that he would only have been here for 3 or 4 months. Di Venuto had set it all up for DCCC.

He's not good enough to be anywhere near the 1st XI team regardless.
Really looking forward to the forthcoming season, hopefully we can stay injury free and get a good start.

Good to see Borthwick in the wickets as well today
