We've had an alien invasion and the nasty blighters want to play a one off T20 game to decide the future of Earth.

Whats your team?

I reckon mine has a great balance and would serve humanity well.
 

Not sure about Afridi, think you'd have to pick him as a specialist spinner these days, his record might squeeze him in on that alone.

And if Kallis plays he has to open. Better off having a finisher like Morgan, Morkel or Yuvraj if that's the position you're looking to fill.

Maybe KP too

Put your money where your mouth is marra. Lets have a look at your side. The batters you mention are all good but cant bowl.

I picked Kallis so we had 3 seamers and 3 spinners. Afridi is a queer one, his batting only comes of in a blue moon but still has the ability to smash a six late on in the innings and has a strike rate of nearly 150. Your right though he's in as a spinner. We'd have an leg spinner, off spinner and a left arm. All the bases covered.

Thought about the bowling option after I'd posted. Have Yuvraj in there over Afridi, far more regular contribution with the bat and more than useful enough as a bowler if you need 3 spinners.

Thats some batting line up like. But only have two wicket takers. Poor bowling line up. If the aliens batted 1st then they would make 400. Nullifying that supreme immense batting lineup.

Verdict. Mine has more balance.

We dont really massive contribution from a number 7 though mate, our top 5-6 should get all the runs. We need wickets. One which Yuvraj doesnt have in his locker (11 with econ of 7.63). Afridi is 3rd on the all time t20 list with 59 (econ 6.17) behind our other bowlers Gul (60),ajmal (61), Vettori (36), Steyn (34).

Haway man. They are all bit part bowlers (ajmal and steyn apart). We not only need to take wickets but need to restrict them with some good economy aswell. As I hear them aliens have some right belter batters.

Bravo or Afridi to be the all-rounder depending on a spinning/seaming wicket, I've picked this team because I like to watch each of those players playing, all of them seem to have an impact on the game.

Close shouts for Amla (really unlucky, but I just prefer watching KP and Jayawardene), Kallis (would have been a cert a few years ago) and Morgan. Gul and Malinga were a toss up too, Vettori doesn't seem to be the player he was a few years ago, tight between him and Afridi but I'm banking on the top order firing and Afridi only facing a handful of balls. McCullum can kill a game but he seems to lack the consistency of the players I've picked.

But do we really need D Villiers and Dhoni? Surely one or the other freeing up another bowing spot.

You've only gone for four bowlers. Who's gonna be your 5th? I hear what your saying about vettori, its just he complements the other bowlers really well, say if gul is getting smacked about you could bring him on and steady the ship. he bowls a canny bit in the powerplays.

I do like your batting line up mind. Kp/Morgan and Jawardene/sangakarra was a close call for me too. If KP was in the England set up I would have him in me side. Plus no Gayle or McCullum? probablees the best T20 batters about. McCullum is ranked no1 and has the most runs in IT20 with the most centuries anarl.

Verdict close shout. Id still prefer mine though. Got great balance, explosive hitters, classy bastmen, mint wicky and 6 bowlers with some proper wicket takers.

You can get 10 overs out of Singh, Kohli, Pietersen and Gayle so no worries on the 5th bowler.

Yes, you do need De Villiers and Dhoni :lol: Both can come in anywhere in the order and you'd fancy your chances of setting/chasing a target.

I found McCullum and Morgan difficult to leave out but I just love the way Jayawardene plays and KP dominates. Morgan at his best is similar in that he looks like he can score anywhere at will and McCullum can take the game away from anyone in side the first 10 overs. Basically I was like a kid in a sweet shop and just wanted to say something a bit different to you :lol:

Nah man the pitches on Mars are as flat as a witches tit ive heard, I'm going all out for batting, unless their is a little bit of swing around in zero gravity, then I'm inclined to swop Southee for Yuvraj :lol:

Theres plenty of class players, so you could chose 3-4 teams that would give a game to the aliens.

Not a bad line up that like. I was close to picking some English players, Morgan, Finn, swann and KP were on the reserve list.

At least I didnt pick any dirty aussies.
