Are you a scratter if you buy scratch cards?

At least with the lottery you have very little hope to start with, and if you do win, theres no need to keep playing

Most scratchcards keep people hooked by drip feeding small rewards consistently that keeps the hope of winning the often much smaller jackpots alive.

Know a bloke who won the post code lottery twice. Only person in his street both times too, £25,000 each time!

The one and only time I bought one whilst getting petrol , I won a grand :) , was jumping about like a f***ing nutter

youre a scratter if you do anything at all by the sound of it

Does my head in when you try to buy a paper and a pint of milk and you have to stand around for five minutes while some twat in a shellsuit painstakingly orders one of each scratch card behind the desk, along with the obligatory packet of fags.

Half the time they haven't even got the self control to wait until they are out of the shop, the minute they have the things in their hand they are feverishly scrubbing away with a 2p coin dreaming of the luxury trampoline for the kids and all the Frosty Jacks they can drink.

It is quite a few years back now, but was there not some numpty from Boldon the day before he took his family on holiday thought that £750 spending money was not enough and blew the lot on scratch cards trying to double it up?

I thought it was just me who got irked by this scattish behaviour. Its worse when they get about 5 weeks of lottery tickets out anarl just to check if they have won out.

This.

How dare I spend my disposable income on something that hasn't been approved by the masses on the SMB.

I like Fosters anarl...

I used to work in my local shop for a bit and there was always this one rough-looking lad who bought the same combinations of scratchcards religiously, trying to play some kind of odds game with them. Used to spend a fortune but got the odd good win, £50 or £100 every couple of weeks. On one of the last couple of shifts I worked, he came in and proudly checked a card with a win of £5,000. The daft thing is that seems a lot but he's probably not much up after spunking so much cumulatively over the years. Still, should keep his Staffy in studded collars and his lass in Air Max for a good while yet.

Nah seriously man, he's at least 30, lives with his parents, walks a chubby, decrepit Staffy, dresses in full Nike tracksuits and Air's, sports a shaved barnet.

He's the chav that time forgot.
