didn't realise blackburn would be due compensation, i had assumed they bought him rather than developed him

Exactly right. I'm not sure if several clubs are trying to sign him how that would work though. Presumably clubs could still make bids to Blackburn and if a fee wasn't agreed with any of those clubs the nature of those bids would influence any fee set by a tribunal?

Do you mean paying that to prevent a tribunal or that's what we will expect to pay after the tribunal?
