The Stadium of Light will be hosting three food bank collection points when Sunderland AFC host Blackpool this Saturday.
The club are once again working alongside Sunderland & Durham food bank, Red & White Army and Foundation of Light to support those in need within our community.
Over two tonnes of food were donated by SAFC supporters during the 2018-19 season.
The three collection points will be at the following locations:
Beacon of Light Fan Zone
Car park opposite ALS
SAFC Ticket Office
Working with nutritionists, food banks provide a minimum of three-days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable tinned and dried foods that have been donated by people in the local community.
Donations of non-perishable food items and cash are also welcome, with the foodbank emphasising the need for the following items:
Cereal
Soup
Pasta
Rice
Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
Lentils, beans and pulses
Tinned meat
Tinned vegetables
Tea/coffee
Tinned fruit
Biscuits
UHT milk
Fruit juice
Household items – laundry liquid detergent, laundry powder, washing up liquid
