Supporters should allow additional time for their journey both to and from the stadium for Tuesday night’s Checkatrade Trophy match as there will be a number of changes to the normal matchday arrangements, including traffic management and entrance and exit procedures
The park and ride service will not be operating for this game.
Turnstiles for home supporters will open at 6.30pm. Supporters can use any turnstile in the east or south stands to enter the stadium and do not have to use the turnstile listed on their match ticket. Home supporters should avoid the north stand area.
Those who use the emergency access road parallel to the Aquatic Centre as a short cut to access the stadium area on foot are also advised that this area will be closed off during the movement of visiting supporters in and out of the stadium.
This is an all-ticket fixture and the deadline to purchase tickets is 5pm on Monday 07 January. There will be no sales on the day of the game and no cash turnstiles in operation.
ROAD CLOSURES/DIVERSIONS
The Sheepfolds area (the industrial estate next to the stadium) will also be closed to all vehicles from 5pm on the day of the game.
Vaux Brewery Way, which runs parallel to the Aquatic Centre and Hilton Hotel, will be closed from 6.15pm until kick off. It will re-open at kick off and close again prior to final whistle to facilitate the safe movement of visiting supporters.
TRAVEL
Sunderland AFC supporters can make their way to the stadium from the Stadium of Light Metro station, whilst visiting fans will use St Peter’s Metro Station.
FULL-TIME
Those supporters wishing to access Kier Hardie Way from the east and south stands post-match are asked to use the path between the Hilton Hotel and the Everyone Active Aquatic Centre as Vaux Brewery Way will be closed.
Guests in the hospitality areas of the stadium may face some restrictions in exiting via the main west stand entrance after the game as visiting supporters are escorted from the Carling Stand to their buses.
