SAFC has confirmed ticket and travel information ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby at St James’ Park.
The game takes place on Sunday 20 March, kicking off at 1:30pm and tickets will be available to Sunderland AFC season card holders only and will be allocated based on the club’s Black Cats Points system. The schedule to apply for tickets, subject to availability, is listed below:
PRIORITY PURCHASE PERIODS
Season card holders with 30 or more Black Cat Points, can purchase their ticket from 9am, Wednesday 17 February until 5pm, Friday 19 February.
Season card holders with 25 or more points can apply from 9am, Monday 22 February until 5pm, Tuesday 23 February (subject to any tickets remaining after the first period).
Season card holders with 20 or more points can apply from 9am, Wednesday 24 February until 5pm, Thursday 25 February (subject to any tickets remaining after the second period).
Season card holders with 18 or more points can apply from 9am, Friday 26 February until 5pm of the dame day (subject to any tickets remaining after the second period).
Season card holders with 17 or more points can apply from 9am, Monday 29 February until 5pm of the same day (subject to any tickets remaining after the second period).
In the unlikely event that tickets remain after the priority period a further announcement will be made.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.safc.com, in-person at the Stadium of Light ticket office or by calling the Sunderland AFC ticket hotline, 0871 911 1973. Supporters can check their Black Cats Points online.
Tickets are priced at £47 for adults, £38 for supporters aged 65 and over and full-time students and £25 for under 18s. Supporters are reminded that all tickets are recorded to the individual season card holder and are traceable. Tickets are not transferable.
Transport
Sunderland AFC will provide a complimentary return bus service from the Stadium of Light to St James’ Park, which affords supporters the quickest and safest way to travel to and from the game.
Fans wishing to take advantage of the free bus service should request their pass when purchasing their match ticket. Those purchasing their match tickets online should call 0191 5515004 between 10am and 5pm Monday-Friday, to request their bus pass, which will then be posted out.
Buses will depart from the Green Car Park at the Stadium of Light, which is located next to the ticket office/Black Cat House. Exact timings for departure will be confirmed in due course.
Sunderland AFC head of safety Paul Weir, said: “The buses are by far the safest and quickest way for fans to get to and from St James’ Park. We have received extremely positive feedback in recent seasons, in particular regarding how quickly the buses return to the stadium after the game.
“Safety is always our priority and I would therefore urge as many supporters as possible to take advantage of this free service to ensure that they can get to and from the game in a safe and timely fashion.”
