Remembrance before Liverpool Match

December 28, 2015 by rtg

Sunderland AFC will continue its long-standing tradition of observing a period of silence at the last home game of the calendar year, in memory of supporters, former players and club officials who have passed away.

The period of silence will take place just prior to kick-off as the Black Cats welcome Liverpool to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday 30 December (7.45pm) and the club invites both Sunderland and Liverpool fans to remember supporters who are no longer with us and pay tribute to former Black Cats stars and loyal club servants who have passed away in 2015.

Former players Marton Fulop, Danny Hegan, Henry Rich, Nick Sharkey and Alan Sproates, along with former director Frank Cronin and scout Andy King have all sadly passed away this year.

The club asks supporters to please take their seats early on the night in order to ensure that the silence is observed in the appropriate manner.
