Leroy Fer is currently on Wearside with a view to a season-long loan move from QPR. Skysports have reported that Fer is undergoing his medical and barring any late hitches, will be a Sunderland player later today. Fer is expected to be part of a double signing, with Yann M’Vila also reported to be close to joining on a one-year-deal.
Both expected signings have brought an end to the recruitment hiatus that has been in place since the middle of July, when Jeremain Lens and Younes Kaboul both signed within 24 hours of each other.
Lee Congerton is now, according to reports trying to land a new front man whilst also trying to trim the wage bill. Will Buckley, Liam Bridcutt, Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham are most likely to be sacrificed, whilst the sale of Connor Wickham on Monday, has accelerated Sunderland’s incomings it seems.
