SAFC are close to sealing the permanent signing of Fabio Borini. A fee has been agreed with Liverpool and Borini is believed to be on Wearside for his medical today.
I know what you are thinking, we went through this last summer he won’t sign. On the contrary, Borini never went through a medical last year so we are already further on.
Furthermore, it is 2015, not 2014, plus we don’t have Gus Poyet acting like a love sick teenager who refuses to take no as an answer.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £10million, including add ons. A four-year-deal is reportedly on the table.
Last summer Borini had just completed a very successful loan with SAFC, Liverpool had just finished second with a champions league campaign to follow. You can’t blame Borini for chancing his arm for a shot at staying with Liverpool. He was 23 years old with 3 years left on his contract.
Borini will be welcomed back by most SAFC fans as a hero, deservedly so.
