Crystal Palace have agreed a fee with Sunderland for Connor Wickham, according to Sky Sports.
The move has came as a surprise as Wickham had only just pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract in December 2014.
Wickham, joined the club in 2011 for a reported fee of £8million from Ipswich Town. In 74 appearances, he scored 11 goals. However, his best spell came in the great escape in 2014 when he scored 5 goals in 4 games, including 2 against eventual champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
This news should be a boost to Dick Advocaat’s transfer kitty, with the squad desperately needing quality reinforcements before the transfer window ends on 2nd September.
