Jody Craddock Testimonial

April 10, 2014 by rtg

Jody Craddock has been awarded a testimonial match, which will see a host of iconic players from Sunderland AFC and Wolverhampton Wanderers line up to raise funds for charity.

Ex-Sunderland boss Peter Reid and right hand man Bobby Saxton will take charge of a star-studded Black Cats line up, which will see the legendary striking partnership of Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips reunited for the first time in more than ten years.

The game will take place on Monday 5 May, 2.00pm kick-off (Bank Holiday) at Wolves’ Molineux home, with proceeds going to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where Jody’s young son four-year-old son Toby is continuing to be treated for leukaemia since being diagnosed two years ago.

The teams will be made up of players who played with Craddock at both clubs. Niall Quinn and Kevin Philips will be joined by a host of former stars including Micky Gray, Alex Rae, Thomas Sorenson, Thomas Myhre, Allan Johnston, Gavin McCann and Kevin Kilbane, whilst former Black Cats boss Mick McCarthy, who spent six years in charge at Molineux, will lead out a Wolves team including past and present stars.

Speaking ahead of the game, Jody commented: “I have been speaking to my former managers and team-mates from both Wolves and Sunderland and am really pleased that pretty much all of them are planning to make the game, as long as club commitments allow.

“Everyone knows how much I enjoyed my time at both Wolves and Sunderland, particularly the two promotions, and the admiration and respect I will always have for both sets of supporters.

“Hopefully this game will provide a great showpiece event to the testimonial and will prove both a fun and exciting afternoon for everyone who comes along.”

Tickets for the game are on sale from Friday and priced at just £10 for adults, £5 for under 17s and over 65s or special family tickets priced at £20 (two adults, two children). Tickets will only be available via www.wolves.co.uk and can be printed at home.
