Australian boyband sensation ‘5 Seconds of Summer’ will support One Direction on their 28-date UK and European leg of their sold-out ‘Where We Are’ World Tour, including the opening night at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.
5 Seconds of Summer, were personally chosen by One Direction, first supporting the band on their epic ‘Take Me Home’ World Tour last year.
Already establishing a name in their own right, 5SOS released their debut UK single, ‘She Looks So Perfect’ on March 23, through Capitol Records UK. Within hours of the pre-order going live, it was #1 in the UK iTunes chart and 48 other countries. When the video for the single went live, it received over a million views in less than 24 hours and now three weeks later boasts an incredible six million views.
5 Seconds of Summer recently concluded their eight-date UK tour – which sold-out in less than five minutes – finishing with two massive shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. They also sold out their debut US headline tour in under five minutes, proving they are set to have a huge year on both sides of the Atlantic.
