Seaham Red Star Academy will be playing the Sunderland AFC Academy U16 team at 7.30pm on Wednesday 24th July at Seaham Town Park. Admission to the game is free of charge and it is a great opportunity to see the youth players that the SAFC Academy is producing.
Seaham Red Star FC have introduced an academy side for the first time in their history for season 2013/14.
The club, formed in 1973, play in Division 2 of the Northern League and are hopeful that the introduction of the academy side will bear fruit by developing local youth players to become 1st team players of the future.
The core of the academy team consists of players from last season’s Russell Foster U16 league and cup double winners, Monkton FC and will compete in the DCFA U18 league. Many of the teams in that league are feeder teams for Northern league sides.
