SAFC will play three pre-season fixtures in Germany this July.
The tour will kick off against Arminia Bielefeld at 3pm (local time) on Sunday 17th July at the 27,000 capacity Schücho Arena in Bielefeld.
Three days later at 7pm (local) on Wednesday 20th July, Sunderland face Hannover 96 in the 14,000-capacity Weserberglandstadion in Hamelin, 50km south west of Hannover.
The Hannover squad includes former Barclays Premier League players Emanuel Pogatetz, DaMarcus Beasley and Mikael Forssell – who played under Steve Bruce at Birmingham City. They have just finished an impressive fourth in Germany’s top tier, just five points short of third-placed Bayern Munich and ensured UEFA Europe League football next season.
Sunderland will complete their visit to Germany with a trip to face Borussia Mönchengladbach at the impressive 54,000-capacity Borussia-Park at 3pm on Saturday 23rd July.
Borussia narrowly retained their Bundesliga status at the end of the 2010/11 season after beating the third-placed team in Germany’s second tier – VfL Bochum, over a two-legged play-off.
Tickets for the fixture with Arminia Bielefeld can be purchased on the day at the Schücho Arena, priced at €7 for standing and €15 for seating.
Tickets for the fixture with Hannover 96 can also be purchased on the day at the Weserberglandstadion, priced at €12 for standing, €20 for seating and €6 for children under 12.
Ticket information for the trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach will be confirmed shortly.
