Have you over indulged over the Christmas period, and would like to get your pre-festivities figure back. How about taking part in a 140 mile cycle ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland over a 3 days then this could be for you. Oh bugger this health lark!
The 6th of January is the second anniversary of the sad loss one of the RTG’s much missed characters/bloggers Graeme ‘Hazey’ Kerton.
In the past couple of years a number of us (22 in 08 and 38 in 09) have completed the C2C from Whitehaven-Sunderland and somewhere in the region of £24,000 has been raised for various charities, not bad going for what is rapidly becoming an annual event. So here we are again 2010 and the dates for this year are the 11th – 13th June.
Route
The plan is to cover the same route leaving Whitehaven after dipping your back tyre in the Irish Sea 11.30ish and then over the next 3 day period (11th -13th June) cycle to Sunderland finishing down near the Marina dipping your front tyre in the North Sea mid/late afternoon on the Sunday.
Overnight stops will be at Greystoke and Nenthead (we will be in the pub and fed in time for the opening England game) again with the cost for B and B and to cover the support cars is £65. There is additional cost for your evening meal but we usually work something out with at least one of the pubs.
Charities
We are not being prescriptive with who does what for which Charity just that you try for a figure of £200 for your chosen charity, and the occasional doff of the cap in the direction of a certain blogger.
