Club bans supporters

October 30, 2009 by rtg

We understand that SAFC has blocked the season cards of a significant number of supporters and written to them asking them not to attend matches.

The common factor between these supporters would appear to be that they were present on the train returning to Newcastle Central Station after the Hearts pre-season friendly.

There was trouble with Police at the station and there is an ongoing Police investigation into this at the current time. However, as far as we know, nobody has been charged with any offences at this time, let alone found guilty.

We obviously cannot speculate on the outcome of the investigation, and we can only assume that the club is taking this action based on the advice of the Police.

Guilty until proven innocent it would seem.

Note – Several threads on our message boards had to be deleted by the moderators last night. We are not against discussing this event and we understand the anger surrounding it but making unrelated libellous allegations and throwing unrelated abuse at our Chairman and the rest of the board is not on and does little to help the case of those who have been banned from the SoL.
