Lights out at the Stadium of Light

July 2, 2007 by rtg

As part of the nationwide ban on smoking in public places which took effect on Sunday 1 July, the Stadium of Light has also become a no-smoking zone.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Stadium – including spectator seating areas, concourses, hospitality suites, executive boxes, access tunnels, walkways, the ticket office and club shops.

Head of Safety and Security for SAFC, John Davidson, said that because the ban is a legal requirement the Stadium is not exempt, and that anyone found smoking in the SoL may be asked to leave.

If supporters leave the Stadium during a game to smoke, they will not be re-admitted.
