Keane talks of Sunderland’s “outstanding” support

January 20, 2007 by rtg

Gaffer Roy Keane has spoken of his appreciation for Sunderland’s “outstanding” supporters at both home and away games, after it emerged that the club had completely sold out their allocation of 6,100 seats for today’s game at Sheffield Wednesday.

Keane told the club’s official site, “We definitely appreciate the support they give us – it’s outstanding.

“Even (last Saturday) when the game wasn’t going great, they were different class – quite understanding of the situation and conditions.

“It’s brilliant that we take so many fans with us away from home – not many clubs in Britain can do it.”
