Scarborough Football Club

November 23, 2006 by rtg

Scarborough Football Club is in desperate trouble.

Essentially the club is £2 million in debt, we have plans to move grounds which will wipe out our debt and build the new stadium. Unfortunately the old ground has a covenant on it that the council must agree to lift if we are to be able to move.

If they dont agree then Scarborough Football Club and its 127 year history will be put into liquidation within the next few weeks.

As a club we have seen a number of former Sunderland players pull on our colours. John Kay, Gary Bennett, Steven Brodie, Paul Heckingbottom, Chris Tate are all players that have eithered been released from Sunderland as youngsters or have played for us in the latter part of their careers.

Clubs like Scarborough, although unfashionable provide careers for those players who either dont make it in your academys or who want to extend their playing careers that little bit longer…..

Please sign our petition here and give Sunderland fans the opportunity to help pursuade Scarborough Council that football fans across the country will not let one of their own die!

Cheers
