Stephen Wright will be out for at least 3 months after damaging his medial knee ligaments in training on Monday.
A scan earlier this week showed that an operation would be necessary. The injury is not believed to have been caused by Ambrose’s horror tackle last Saturday.
Nyron Nosworthy now looks set to receive his starting debut against Liverpool at the weekend.
