Gray to sign for Mick?

August 8, 2005 by rtg

Sheffield United have confirmed that they are in talks with Sunderland about the possibility of striker Andy Gray moving to the Stadium of Light.

The Blades beat Sunderland 1-0 in a pre-season friendly recently and Gray scored their first goal as part of a 4-1 defeat of Ipswich on the opening day of the Championship.

Blades gaffer Neil Warnock said, “The two clubs are talking – but no fee has been agreed, and the player hasn’t officially spoken to them.

“I’ve spoken to Mick McCarthy and we should know more on Monday night.

“The timing is difficult for us with the season just started.”
