The shirt is predominantly black and features red and silver panels on the sleeves with a red strip down both sides. It also bears the traditional embroidered club crest and sponsors logo’s. The shorts are black with silver side flashes and red piping, with change-shorts in silver with a black side flash and red piping. The socks are also black with red and silver flashes down one side.
Marketing and Communications Director Lesley Callaghan said:
“Everyone is working hard to ensure the kit is available for our fans as soon as possible and we are looking forward to the August launch. The black kit was a clear winner in our on-line poll so I’m sure it will prove to be popular amongst our supporters.”
Sunderland will sport the new kit in two of their pre-season fixtures as they embark on a tour of North America in mid-July.
The replica kit will be launched in SAFC retail stores from the evening of Thursday 11th August
