Marcus Stewart’s Last Game

May 6, 2005 by rtg

The club have confirmed via the official website that this Sunday will be Marcus Stewart’s last game for SAFC.

Marcus is this season’s leading goalscorer and his displays in the second half of the season have won over even his biggest doubters. However Mick McCarthy has confirmed that his contract will not be renewed at the end of the season.

Speaking to SAFC.COM, McCarthy said :

“It was a difficult decision to make but Marcus does not want the sympathy vote. The last thing he wants is to be here and not playing.

“It’s the best decision for him. He can move on and get football on a regular basis.”

Best of luck from all at RTG, Marcus, wherever you go next. We’re sure clubs will be clamouring for your signature.
