It now looks likely that beleaguered striker Kevin Kyle will miss the start of Sunderland’s premiership season, after receiving the news that he needs another operation on his troublesome hip injury.
Kyler had his first operation after making only 7 appearances last season and missed most of the rest of the season, apart from a handful of appearances for the Reserves.
The big Scot recently had a consultation with French surgeon Thierry Boyer – recommended to him by the surgeon who performed his first operation – and had hoped to be told that further rest was one possible solution; but M. Boyer has recommended another operation.
