Mick McCarthy has revealed that skipper Gary Breen regularly plays out of position in training matches – and Breen doesn’t mind a bit!
McCarthy revealed during an interview with BBC Radio Newcastle recently that the squad have “old vs young” matches in training sessions at the Academy of Light, and today the gaffer revealed that Breen regularly plays as a striker in these games.
And coincidentally Breen has scored twice in recent games!
Mick said “He tends to be a rampaging centre-forward – he gets marked by Steve Caldwell and Danny Collins.”
