SAFC Chairman Bob Murray’s takeover of the club seems to be almost complete.
The chairman announced earlier this month that he had bought out BSkyB’s shares in the club, and offered to buy up the majority of remaining shares still held, to effectively takeover the club.
The club confirmed late this afternoon that the Chairman has received confirmation from holders of 7.76% of the remaining shares that they’re willing to sell to him – this would give Murray a 50.1% share of the club, and when those share transfers go through, Murray will have overall control of Sunderland AFC.
