Kevin Kyle has spoken of his hope to return to competitive action hopefully as soon as next month.
The Scot resumed light training recently in an effort to finally shake off the hip injury which has plagued him for several months now.
And he’s hoping to finally get involved in a competitive game as early as next month. He told the club’s official site, “I’m way off match fitness yet but maybe next month I can look at getting 20 minutes’ run-out in a reserve game or two.
“The hip is coming through fine so far and I am not getting any pain from it – it is the rest of me which is struggling!
“The idea was I would go through light training before seeing the specialist but I responded better than we expected; there was no problem from the hip and we just took it from there.
“The next day I went in for a bit of training with the first team and there was no pain or reaction, so this week I am just stepping it up and then doing running afterwards.
“At Christmas I could not have been more down because I was expecting to have another operation and I’d written off playing again this season. However, for it to seemingly heal itself through rest is fantastic.”
