Sunderland Football Club is again calling on Black Cats fans to get into the festive spirit whilst pledging their support to two very worthwhile causes.
At this Saturday’s vital clash with West Ham the Stadium of Light, SAFC volunteers will be selling red and white Santa hats with all proceeds being shared between the Club’s own registered charity, Sunderland AFC Foundation and Metro Radio’s “Just For Kids” charity.
SAFC Manager, Mick McCarthy said: “Everyone already knows how fantastic Sunderland fans are at getting behind the lads and wearing their red and white with pride. It would be great to see the crowd all wearing these Santa hats on Saturday and lending their support to this very worthwhile fundraising effort.”
Hats will be on sale both inside and outside the Stadium of Light, from the ticket office and at the Stadium store for only £1, although supporters wishing to donate more are welcome to do so.
SAFC Foundation Director, Lesley Spuhler said: “Sunderland AFC Foundation works with over 30,000 young people a year. This is a fun way for all Sunderland fans to get involved in raising funds to support us and “Just for Kids” – two charities both working to help young people across the region.”
Joanne Coan from Just for Kids said: “We help hundreds of local children and worthwhile causes. Sunderland fans can really help us to make a difference to young people in our region by purchasing a Santa hat.”
