Sunderland have been drawn against Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Lads played Palace in the ill-fated play-off semi last May which saw Sunderland battle all the way to an absolutely agonising penalty shoot-out which Palace won to gain promotion.
Mick McCarthy said this afternoon, “We’ve been drawn against a Premiership side so it’ll be a good test for us.
“Given the recent history between the sides it’ll be an interesting game, I’m looking forward to it. I’m sure it’ll be one our fans will relish too.”
Cup holders Man Utd have been drawn at home to Exeter, current Premiership leaders Chelsea are at home against Scunthorpe.
