Bridges gets his goal

December 23, 2004 by rtg

Michael Bridges has been credited with the winning goal in Sunderland’s 2-1 victory over Burnley.

The goal was the subject of much debate among the media, supporters and players, with both Liam Lawrence and Michael Bridges claiming the last touch.

The Football League reviewed a copy of the match video and confirmed that the goal will be officially credited to Bridges, his second goal in two starts for the Black Cats.

“Stickman’s” loan agreement has now been converted to a permanent deal until the end of the season, with an option of a further one-year extension.
