Thomas Butler to sign for Dunfermline?

September 8, 2004 by rtg

Fresh from the news that the elusive Thomas Butler has had a trial with Wolves, it seems that he now has ambitions to continue his professional career north of the border.

Dunfermline Athletic are interested in signing Ballymun born Butler, but require international clearance before he can play in Scotland.

Pars’ gaffer Chris Hay said today, “We were hoping he might have played against Aberdeen and we had applied for clearance but it appears it’s not as simple as that.

“Because his last club was in England it means it’s cross-border and we needed international clearance.”
