The club has confirmed today that both John Oster and Sean Thornton will be in the reserves squad to face Manchester City tonight.
Oster, linked with a move to West Ham, was on the bench for last night’s fixture against Sheffield United and was once again booed by a section of Sunderland’s travelling supporters when he replaced Darren Carter in the 74th minute. Thornton, who has yet to submit the transfer request threatened two weeks ago by his agent, has played in only five of Sunderland’s eleven league matches so far this season.
Tonight’s match takes place at the Regional Athletics Stadium at SportCity, Manchester.
Sunderland Reserves (from): Alnwick, Dickman, Taylor, Leadbitter, Clark, Christensen, Oster, Thornton, Teggart, Johnson, Ryan, Kingsberry, Ingham, Wanless, Clarkson.
