Two more Sunderland players have been called up to represent their country for forthcoming international matches.
This time it’s the turn of John Oster and Carl Robinson who have been selected for the Welsh squad to face Latvia in Riga on August 18.
Today’s news comes hot on the heels of international selections for Mart Poom, George McCartney and Jeff Whitley.
The Norwegian, Scotland and Republic of Ireland managers have yet to announce their squads to face Belgium, Hungary and Bulgaria respectively, also playing on August 18, and these squads could see the inclusion of Thomas Myhre, Gary Breen, Kevin Kyle and Steve Caldwell.
The matches all take place only four days after Sunderland’s league game against QPR but that match will not be affected, as players called up for friendlies only have to meet up with their squads 48 hours prior to the game – so the ‘three player minimum’ rule will not apply in this case.
