Away kit launch announced

August 21, 2004 by rtg

Sunderland’s new change kit goes on sale on Saturday 4th September, and

the Stadium store will open its doors at 7am to give those supporters

who are eager to be the first to get their hands on the new kit the

chance to do so as early as possible.

The new Diadora change kit is white with a navy and red trim, this

replicates the style running through the entire Diadora range. The

shirt itself is made from a performance enhancing fabric and features a

new navy Napoli style neck. It also has discreet side panels which,

when shirt tugging occurs on the pitch, are designed to stretch to

highlight a blue panel and alert the referees attention. The shorts and

socks are also white with a matching navy and red trim.

The club would urge all supporters buying the new change kit to do so

from official outlets as all profits are re-cycled back into the Club

and ultimately therefore help the Club in pushing for promotion. Anyone

purchasing a shirt from official outlets will receive a £5 gift voucher

to be spent on Diadora training wear. This voucher can be redeemed in

Club stores and via mail order only.

To celebrate the launch of the new away kit and to thank fans for their

loyalty in purchasing from official Club outlets, Sunderland AFC are

holding a free prize draw where one lucky supporter will win a behind

the scenes day at the Club’s Academy of Light.

This fantastic prize will allow the lucky winner and

their guest to experience a typical day in the life of a Sunderland

player. The day will kick off with breakfast with three members of

Sunderland’s first team squad. Breakfast will be served up by the

Academy’s head chef but that is not all that’s on offer, the lucky

winner will also have the opportunity to chat with the players and may

even get some team news or tactics!

After breakfast there’s a tour of the Club’s state-of-the-art training

academy, widely recognised as one of the countries leading facilities.

The winner will be able to experience first hand just how this

magnificent facility is used on a day-to-day basis by the players.

After the tour it’s out to see Mick McCarthy put the lads through their

paces as the winner heads out to watch training. After the session is

complete, the winner will be presented with a signed away shirt before

heading back into the training ground for a spot of lunch. This truly

is a unique opportunity to see the training ground in action and to meet

Mick McCarthy and the players in their day-to-day environment.

All supporters who purchase the new away shirt between now and the end

of the first week of sales (close of business on Saturday 11th

September) will qualify to be entered into this free prize draw. Anyone

pre-ordering either online at safc.com, through mail order on 0191 551

5030 or in person at the Club’s retail outlets will automatically be

entered into the draw.

Pre-orders are being taken now so supporters are encouraged to either

call into the Club shop, log onto www.safc.com/store

or call 0191 551 5151 to secure their kit

and be in with a chance of winning this fabulous prize.

All pre-orders are dispatched to reach supporters on Saturday 4th

September.
