There are still spaces left for anyone wanting to join in with the ‘Statue For Stokoe‘ golfing day to raise funds for a statue of Bob Stokoe.
The event takes place at Durham’s Ramside Hall Hotel on Friday 2nd July. Registration is at 9am, with bacon sandwiches and coffee being provided followed by a shotgun start at 10am.
After the event, there’s a two-course lunch with a prize presentation ceremony; some of this year’s prizes include hospitality at an SAFC match, golf bags and association jumpers.
Teams comprise three members of the public plus one former SAFC player – Nick Sharkey, Gordon Armstrong, Len Ashurst, Richard Ord, Jeff Clarke, Jim Montgomery and Bobby Kerr are all amongst those confirmed to take part. Bobby Kerr’s Copt Hill drinks buggy will provide players will refreshments during the round.
The Fund presently stands at more than £45,000 and the organisers of the Golf Day hope to raise up to £2,000.
The cost of entering a team of three people is £240 – to enter, contact Mandy Holme on 0191 510 2412.
