McCarthy – no interest in Pedersen

June 8, 2004 by rtg

Mick McCarthy has dismissed speculation that he was preparing a bid for Norwegian striker Morten Gamst Pedersen.

The 22 year old Tromso player is interested in playing for a British club, but McCarthy today said that he has NOT put in a bid for the youngster.

Blackburn Rovers had a £1m bid for the player rejected last week, and are said to be about to submit an improved offer, in the region of £1.5m.

Rovers’ Chief Executive John Williams said, “Pedersen has interested us, so to have our offer rejected is disappointing.”
