Semi Final Injury Blow – Club Press Release

April 2, 2004 by rtg

Sunderland were left reeling today from the shock news that one of their key team members could be missing from Sunday’s FA Cup Semi-Final at Old Trafford.

Club mascot Samson the Cat suffered a foot injury after falling off his scooter last night and is a doubt for Sunday’s big game.

Samson is receiving intensive treatment at the Club’s state-of-the-art training ground, the Academy of Light and will face a late fitness test on Sunday morning.

Commenting on his injury, Samson said:

“I’m not feline too well at the moment and will be devastated if I have to miss out on such an important game, but I’m working hard to regain my fitness and hopefully I’ll be in purrfect condition by Sunday.”
