Play Off Final Ticketing Arrangements

April 30, 2004 by rtg

Play Offs – The Final

Unlike in previous seasons, when the First Division play off final has been held on the last Bank Holiday Monday in May, this season’s final will be on Saturday 29th May. This is due to the international call up date for Euro 2004 starting at midnight on 29th May, an event most likely to affect First Division sides.

Ticketing in the event of involvement in the Final

As the current proposal is for the Play Off Semi Finals to be concluded on Tuesday 18th May there will only be limited time to administer all applications, process and post a minimum of 30,000 tickets.

Due to the limited time available all applications for the Final will therefore need to be made on an ‘in the event’ we are involved basis and received shortly after the club’s final league game, to give the ticket office time to deal with all ticketing matters and to avoid disruption for fans. The schedule of this year’s play offs means that ticketing will be a very tough challenge for all the clubs involved.

Final – Season Ticket Holders

Sunderland AFC will be pleased to reward the loyalty of its valued season ticket holders with a guaranteed ticket for the Final, in the event Sunderland AFC is involved.

Season ticket holders will also be offered the opportunity to apply for one additional ticket. However, the additional ticket is not guaranteed and will be subject to availability

Applications from season ticket holders will be accepted until 5.30pm on Tuesday 11th May. Any applications received after this date will not be guaranteed.

Season Ticket Holders, Black Cat Bar members are invited to apply immediately for up to 2 tickets using voucher 24.

Season ticket holders should complete the reverse of voucher 24 as follows:

1) Complete full name, address and postcode.

2) Indicate whether 1 or 2 tickets are required, subject to availability.

3) Indicate 3 choices of ticket price in order of preference – option 3 MUST be ‘any’ if season ticket holders want to guarantee a ticket.

4) Indicate any concession required on the reverse of your voucher, subject to availability, by deleting those categories that are NOT applicable. Sunderland AFC will post adult tickets unless otherwise stated.

5) Include full credit / debit card details or a signed cheque made payable to ‘Sunderland AFC’ with the payment amount left blank.

6) Season ticket holders should enclose the above information with the vouchers of any other season ticket holders they want to be seated next to. However, due to limited time only one credit /debit card or cheque must be enclosed to cover the cost of all tickets in the party.

7) All applications must enclose a FIRST CLASS stamped self-addressed envelope. NB: If second-class postage is used tickets could arrive too late for the game.

8) Applications should be posted to ‘PO FINAL’, PO BOX 165, SUNDERLAND, SR5 1WF’

.

Wheelchair season ticket holders requiring wheelchair positions and tickets for their personal assistants should make applications in the same way but post to ‘PO FINAL SPECIAL, PO BOX 165, SUNDERLAND, SR51WF.

Season ticket holders are also welcome to hand in applications in person at the Stadium of Light ticket office. However, tickets will not be issued over the counter in any circumstances and CASH applications will not be accepted, as the Club is not guaranteed to be involved in the Final. For security reasons there is no post box at the Stadium of Light.

GENERAL SALE – BALLOT

The Club will ring fence a proportion of the tickets allocated to facilitate a general sale ballot for supporters that have attended a number of league games this season. The number of tickets in the ballot will be determined by the allocation the club receives and the take up by season ticket holders.

General sale ballot applications will be accepted by post only until 5.30pm on Tuesday 11th May.

Ballot Application Procedure:

Supporters are invited to apply for up to 2 tickets but no tickets are guaranteed for non-season ticket holders. Successful applicants may also only be awarded 1 ticket, subject to availability.

All applications will be entered into a lottery style ballot and successful applicants will receive ticket(s) for the game.

1) Complete full name, address and postcode (also include customer number if known).

2) Indicate whether 1 or 2 tickets are required, subject to availability.

3) Indicate 3 choices of ticket price in order of preference – option 3 MUST be ‘any’ if applicants want to be considered for all categories.

4) Indicate any concession required, subject to availability, by deleting those categories that are NOT applicable. Sunderland AFC will post adult tickets unless otherwise stated.

5) Include full credit / debit card details or a signed cheque made payable to ‘Sunderland AFC’ with the payment amount left blank.

6) All applications must enclose a FIRST CLASS stamped self-addressed envelope. NB: If second-class postage is used tickets could arrive too late for the game.

7) Applications should be posted to ‘BALLOT’, PO BOX 165, SUNDERLAND, SR5 1WF’

Wheelchair users requiring wheelchair positions and tickets for their personal assistants should make applications in the same way but post to ‘BALLOT SPECIAL, PO BOX 165, SUNDERLAND, SR51WF.
