Club hoping for Julio quick recovery

March 8, 2004 by rtg

Julio Arca underwent a scan on the knee injury he picked up in yesterday’s quarter final win over Sheffield United, and Mick McCarthy says he’s optimistic that the Argentinian will be back in action sooner rather than later.

Arca almost certainly won’t be available for our delayed league match against Preston on Wednesday evening, but McCarthy says he hopes it won’t be much longer before Julio will be back in defence.

McCarthy told the club’s official website today that it looked like Arca has simply “tweaked the ligaments in his knee – we’ll know more after the scan.”

“We’re hoping that it’s not too bad,” he continued.

Loan signing Kevin Cooper is available to deputise while Arca recovers.
