Cureton: not signing?

January 10, 2004 by rtg

It seems that Kevin Cooper’s fellow trialist at SAFC, Jamie Cureton, will NOT be signing on loan after all.

The two started a week’s trial with Sunderland within days of each other, and Cooper started a three month loan period earlier this week – but it seems that Cureton won’t be following suit.

Cureton left Reading to join South Korean team Busan Icons in the summer but hasn’t settled successfully and is looking for a return to English football.

Metro FM’s Simon Crabtree said this afternoon that he’d heard from the club that Cureton has now finished his trial with Sunderland, but will not be signing a loan deal.

Our opponents this weekend Nottingham Forest, and Bristol City are said to be keeping an eye on the player’s progress.
