Sunderland Football Club is calling on Black Cats fans to get into the
festive spirit whilst supporting two worthwhile charitable causes at the
same time.
SAFC volunteers will be selling red and white Santa hats prior to the
game against Wimbledon on Saturday 20th December, with all proceeds going to the SAFC Foundation and Metro Radio’s ‘Just For Kids’ charity.
The club hopes to see supporters donning their the hats for kick off at
the Black Cats last home game before Christmas.
SAFC Marketing Director, Jim Slater said:
“This is a fun way for our supporters to get involved in raising funds
for the SAFC Foundation and ‘Just for Kids’ charities which are two very
worthwhile organisations that directly benefit young people across our
region.”
The hats will be on sale both inside and outside the stadium, from the
ticket office and at the stadium store for only £1, although supporters
wishing to donate more are welcome to do so.
SAFC Manager Mick McCarthy said:
“It would be great for the lads to run out on Saturday and see the crowd
all wearing hats! Our fans are fantastic and I’m sure they will lend
their support to this very worthwhile fundraising effort. ”
Just for Kids Chairman Donald Dempsey said:
“We help hundreds of local children and assist many worthwhile causes.
Sunderland fans can really help us to make difference to young people in
our region by purchasing a Santa hat“.
