Kyle misses promotion to Scotland seniors

November 7, 2003 by rtg

Kevin Kyle has narrowly missed out on promotion to the Scottish senior side for their Euro 2004 qualifying play-off match.

Scotland team manager Berti Vogts was at The Hawthorns last week to see Kyle’s performance and it was rumoured that he was about to hand Kyle his first senior start.

But Kyle will remain with the U21 squad who travel to Croatia for the first leg of the playoff on 16 November; the second leg is in Edinburgh on 18th November.

Should Scotland beat Croatia over two legs, they will reach the finals next summer – and boost their chances of staging the event.
