On-loan striker Michael Reddy says he hopes his three month spell at Sheffield Wednesday can eventually be a permanent move to South Yorkshire.
Reddy has gone to the Owls in a loan swap deal that sees the Yorkshire club’s midfielder Alan Quinn come to the Stadium of Light.
Reddy spent three months on loan with the Owls (managed by former SAFC player Chris Turner and his assistant, another former SAFC star Colin West) earlier this year and told the Sheffield Star, “This is a great club, and the supporters were good to me last season.
“I hope there will be something permanent here at the end of the loan.”
“The gaffer, and Colin West and the lads are excellent, and it’s an opportunity for first-team football. So I’m delighted to be back.”
“I’ve kept looking at Wednesday’s results. As a forward, I hope to score a few goals, and I hope to help the team keep winning.”
Dublin born Quinn’s contract with Wednesday expires next summer when he will be available on a free and it’s thought that Sunderland may be willing to let Reddy move for free.
