Norwich boss expects “a competitive game”

October 24, 2003 by rtg

Norwich boss Nigel Worthington said today that even though his team is unbeaten at home this season, he’s taking nothing for granted when Mick McCarthy’s Sunderland visit Carrow Road tomorrow.

“Sunderland are one of the better sides in the first division”, said Worthington.

“They have come down from the Premiership and have a number of quality players. Mick McCarthy has done a good job of turning them around – we’re looking forward to a good, competitive game.

“These are the teams we need to prove ourselves against if we want to finish top in this division.

“It will be an intense game and a very close one, but hopefully we can use our home advantage again to get the edge over them.”
