Press release from Sunderland AFC
Sunderland are to put season tickets back on sale for a limited period giving supporters another chance to secure their seat for the remaining 19 homes games.
The team now seems to be heading in the right direction having got back to their winning ways. 10 goals in 4 games has taken the Black Cats to fourth in the League following an exciting late win against Palace on Saturday and the four-goal hammering of Bradford.
Thousands of Black Cats fans have so far this season purchased on a match-to-match basis and because of this demand the club is putting season tickets back on sale for a limited period.
The 19-game season ticket will start with the home match against Ipswich Town on Tuesday 30 September and includes the re-arranged Rotherham United match on 21st October. Tickets will go on sale on today and will be available until Monday 29th September.
Adult prices start at £270 for concession areas and go up to £365 for a centre seat in the East, West or Premier Concourse stands. Junior prices in concession areas are under 12s £80, under 16s £115 and under 22s £185.
Prices will offer a significant cost saving on match-to-match prices and are reduced to take into account the four home matches that will have already taken place (Millwall, Watford, Crystal Palace and Reading). To give an example a ticket in the Carling North Stand will cost £285 working out at just £15 per game instead of the usual £23.
All of the normal season ticket holder privileges are retained including subscription to Legion of Light, entrance to reserve matches and priority for away games.
Vice Chairman John Fickling spoke of the decision to sell season tickets
saying:
” It was clear that a lot of fans held off buying their season tickets
because they wanted to see whether the team started winning games and
doing well.
” We now look like we’ve turned the corner and are going in the right
direction. The atmosphere in the ground is building again, fans are
enjoying coming to games and now that we’ve got a few good wins under
our belt a lot of fans are asking for season tickets – obviously we are
delighted to sell them.
” Of course any season tickets sold will massively help the club as well
as fans guaranteeing their seat and making significant cash savings.
Supporters with season tickets will also find it easier to get into the
Stadium of Light on match days and I really hope a lot of fans take up
the offer.”
