Paul Thirlwell and Thomas Butler have been selected for the squad to play against Hearts tomorrow (30th) in the club’s continuing pre-season programme, after putting in impressive performances for Sunderland Reserves against Durham City last weekend.
Both players got on the scoresheet in the second string’s 8-1 rout of Durham at the Archibald Stadium, at the same time as their colleagues in the first squad were carving out a 2-2 draw against Hibernian.
The squad for tomorrow’s match against Hearts is:
Poom, Wright, McCartney, Craddock, Bjorklund, McAteer, Thirlwell, Whitley, Kilbane, Butler, Thornton, Stewart, Kyle, Piper, Oster, Williams, Clark, Proctor.
