He scored against the mags ya knar! He's proper mint and that.
ones who happy being a lone wolf.
one who's happy to scrap with CB's for 90mins.
one who doesn't mind scoring shit goals with whatever part of his body he can.
one that fits in with our team hopefully.
Sounds like Fletcher to me.
and one that isn't a boyhood Everton fan.
To the best of my knowledge he was almost never asked to play a lone role at Wolves. He was mostly played in a two with the hardworking Doyle as partner - either that or as one of the secondary forwards in a front three.
don't care who they support as long as they do a job for us.
would be nice if they had some pace about them too.
as much as i like the flarey pacey forward, we need some consistency and balls upfront right now. someone you can rely on not to give up on everything.
Bearing in mind Fletchers ratio is playing for bottom 5 clubs and has been relagated twice in 3 seasons, you would presume he`d get a few more for a midtable side like ourselves (arent we?)
Wouldn't be surprised if MON wanted Fletcher and Gabby. To be fair, you do need 2 strikers IMO. If you signed either of the above and got a ligament torn, you'd be pretty fucked.
Would be extremely happy with gabby and Moses, think they would both bring something we are lacking... Gabby has pace and Moses could be the next drogba, Can't see him getting a game at chelsea!
Didn't you know Moses was the next Drogba? Even ahead of that kid Chelsea signed to be the next Drogba. In fact, Drogba isn't Drogba anymore, he's the footballer formally known as Drogba.
A good one.
What we have at the minute is:
Wickham : who?
Ji: more like joke.
Fairly obvious i would have thought. Sess has a career total of just 42 goals from 319 appearances, including his international ones. IMO it just puts far too much pressure on the other striker and indeed the rest of the team to compensate for his lack of goals. A Cisse or Bent who can score 20+ means you can have the luxury of a Sessegnon in your team but i'm not convinced playing the likes of Fletcher alongside Sess would be a good idea.....i really think they would struggle to score more than 20 between them, which leaves you looking for at least another 30 from the rest of the team.
I'm very much in favour of our signing the next Drogba. I'm not sure that Moses, with his fewer goals than Bendtner in more games statistics, is him though.
Agbonlahor also doesn't look to be the guy to get more goals for us. Basically, Moses and Agbonlahor don't really add anything, other than squad depth.
To be honest, I'd rather Fletcher than both of these two. To be even more honest, I'd rather take a punt on Ji, Campbell and Wickham than chase average players from average teams.
I understand this concern. But how is Agbonlahor a better option for playing with Fletcher? Do you see him as a prolific striker?
I think Fletcher and Agbonlahor with the right support (ie two decent wingers and someone who can see an early pass from midfield) would score a minimum of 25 between them and potentially 30. Fletcher with his heading ability and Agbonlahor with his pace are tailor made for balls whipped in from the wings or slotted through from midfield.
He improved his tally every year under O'Neill.....9, 11, 12 and 13 PL goals......and also chipped in 22 assists during that 4 year spell.
Played in the right system under the right manager i could see 12-15 a season from him.....but we need two like that not just a solitary striker.
If the papers are to go by if our striking line up come August was
Fletcher & Van Wolfswinkel I would be happy.
Where does Sess fit into this? Would Agbonlahor up front offer more to the team than Sess in support? My other main concern would be getting enough crosses into the box.
