leak goals with Turner in our defence.
Should we then call him TURNER TAP
The lad did ok for a first season moving to a big club, and I think he will become a very steady CB and hopefully he will get someone to play alongside him on a regular basis.
I would like to see Cana with him seeing as we have enough ball winning CM's
We lost 20 games last season with the fabulous Noz, Collins et al.
We lost 16 games this season with the advent of Turner.
The fragility of mensah, and the learning curve of da Silva meant he has hardly had the chance to forge any relationship based on a consistent pairing .
He's done very very well.
Strange that Liverpool were sniffing around before we jumped in and Capello has made enquiries, and Bruce is a CB himself.
I'm sure you're a better judge than them.
Or do you have a snide agenda..discuss
Have these ever been corroborated in any way?
For the record, I'm still undecided on Turner. We'll see next year.
Turner is average, no more no less. We could certainly improve on him.
fucking stupid thread. we could improve on him, we could do alot worse. we will always concede goals whoever fucking plays. must we slag someone off all the fucking time?
He'll do for me.
Good player who will only improve with experience. Future england international for me. He needs a solid back four to work with and if we improve in both full back areas and another centre half we will be fine. Some people are never happy. If you look at the so called "top" centre halfs this season terry, vidic , ferdinand all got slated at different times in top sides. Turner needs to improve his distribution but overall very happy with the lad.
Makes me laugh all these Turner threads... the lad is a f*cking decent CB and we are lucky to have him!
When I don't see him in our eleven, I get nervy... I'm happy with him and think/hope he can take yet another step next season. He's a tough no-nonsense CB who commands the air and aren't afraid to stick his head in and. Could be a bit faster but there are many great CB's who aren't Walcotty.
I reckon we should do everything possible to get Johnny Evans off UTD. Him and Turner at the back would be mint.
Piss off, man. That's Bent's goals, not Turner.
We conceded 54 goals last season with the fabulous Noz, Collins et al.
We conceded 56 goals this season with the advent of Turner. And that was with Craig Gordon playing out of his skin for a couple of months.
You can cherry-pick statistics to prove your point, cozmo-style, or you can admit that Turner hasn't been the player we wanted him to be. It won't be popular, but I felt a lot more at ease with Noz and Collins at the back than Turner and McCartney. And the stats do back me up...
cant see that happening like
He is one half of a central defensive pair. We still need to find the other half, a ball playing defender.
Until we do, we won't see the best out of him.
Would be a bonus. The most important attribute to pair with Turner is pace.
That's why I don't think Da Silva is the answer. There is no doubt he is good with the ball at his feet, but he lacks the pace that we need as well.

Rafael Benítez has confirmed his interest in signing Michael Turner from Hull City after Liverpool's defensive problems mounted at home to Atlético Madrid yesterday.
The Liverpool manager has fitness doubts over all three of his first-choice centre-halves ahead of their opening Premier League game at Tottenham on Sunday, after Jamie Carragher limped out of the 2-1 defeat with a twisted ankle.
Though withdrawn as a precaution, Carragher's injury is an untimely blow for Liverpool, with Martin Skrtel nursing a hamstring strain and Daniel Agger also recovering from a back problem.
"It is true I was talking with Phil Brown [the Hull manager], but I won't discuss any figures," said the Liverpool manager. When asked if he would make a second inquiry, Benítez added: "Maybe."
Hull are believed to want £10m for Turner, but despite making that figure in profit on Xabi Alonso's £30m move to Real Madrid and his £20m acquisition of Roma's Alberto Aquilani, Benítez may be priced out of a deal.
The only thing putting doubt in my mind about Turner is the way he's always got his hands all over the opposing players, always shirt pulling, cuddling, body slamming - It's amazing that he's gotten away with it so far.
Have we lost less games..yes or no?
Remind where noz couldnt get a game at Cb
Collins 4th choice at stoke.
Your stats dont back you up
OK, and Capello? If you repeat a rumour enough times it often becomes a fact in people's eyes. Just interested in knowing which is which.
