It's because the teams don't want other teams to know how much they have to spend if someone knows Chelsea have juts got 11 million they can't pretend they are skint when they goto sign another keeper

Selling price is quite often a lot less than the buying price especially with foreign clubs. Noted this when there is a big discrepancy.

For a club like us it's perfect
Players like Connor wickham with it being known we paid around 8 mill plus add ons it's awful for the players and fans
Constant slating and not happy at the quick return makes for a tougher life for the player and more negativity from fans
If Rodwell was undisclosed ( I think it was but word is it was around 10 mill) he'd have had a much easier ride
It's the opposite when it comes to statement signings ala Giac, Gyan, Bent and Sess, big players from big clubs which ended up looking real value for money

Like @kick in the quinn said it's most tactical, either to not disclose a big loss or not to show that a team has plenty of money to splash around.

Alot of modern Transfers are quote complicated aswell, broken up into many installments and pending certain requirements being met.
Hence fees like £28.6m for Ramos

It's annoying as fuck like PW I'm with you there.

As a fan it's nice to be able to discuss whether players have been a good signing or not but if you could have paid £200k or £20m for someone how do you know?

Fee paid has very little to do whether it was a good signing or not ,Jack Rodwell was a bad signing regardless of how much we paid for him
